That said, imo, D3’s items are boring as all hell, and this is the one single aspect of d2 all these years later that keeps me coming back. Very well done engine and interaction framework.
Im not a huge huge D3 fan, but ofc i do own as part of my diablo journeys across the years.Īnd tbh, the game is friggin amazingly smooth to play, perhaps literally the smoothest arpg play wise on the market.
Well, all in all, as i said earlier, you have, IMO, truly brought some reasonable sound stuff to your topics. Some ppl want the game to be impossible and requesting nerfs while the other ppls want the game to be easier so that everyone can “beat the game”. Gr150 is simply the highest lvl since they cant add more difficulty without being forced to change the underlaying code. U can get stronger and climb the grs but actually beating the game was suppose to be impossible. The idea with D3 was to make the game impossible to keep the players from quitting, making players have a end goal to aim for without actually reaching it. Ppl who arent willing to spend that amount of time wont beat it.
Some ppl enjoys reaching the end game and beating what the game has to offer.ĭ3 requires the player to grind for hours before they will be able to beat the game (gr150). Its just my way explaining the differences.ĭ2 is designed so that ppl arent required to grind for several hours a days to beat it. Yeah i didnt mean it to be a insult of any kind. There’s much to be considered before just generalizing it as such. Your previous comment, iir, was that D2 was made for casuals, or maybe i’m mistaken? That’s not actually a truthful assessment. Unfortunately these server issues have proven to be quite problematic. I was hoping the launch would be smooth so that we could all enjoy the trip down memory lane, and that they could add some changes to the game later on. Unfortunately I doubt that they will do a lot aside from fix the servers and add some minor QoL. The potential is actually big because the itemization and loothunt is solid, one of the best in the genre still. Freshen things up since this game has been solved a long time ago. What it needs is some QoL changes, some balancing and a mapping system of sorts. The foundation of this game is actually solid.
#TORCHLIGHT 3 PVP MODS#
There are multiple mods that offer interesting endgame and hopefully Blizzard can draw inspiration from those once they finally manage to fix their damn servers. With that being said, game is 20 years old and the pvm endgame is obviously pretty lacklustre by now. The brawling system in D3 is a complete joke by comparison. I personally have PvP as an end goal so for that reason alone D2 offers far more replayability than D3 ever did. It’s actually exciting to find good drops, unlike in D3 where it’s just a matter of time (very little time at that) before you’ve loot every item and just grind exp. That is what you play this game for, to make various builds and see how strong they are. Unless you’re good at trading or cheating/buying stuff for irl cash then completing a character takes quite a bit of time.
